Bombardier Business Jet Family on Static Display at Wichita Festival of Flight

  • High-performance Learjet aircraft to perform flyby

Wichita, Kansas, Sept. 24, 2010 – Bombardier Aerospace will be showcasing its current production Learjet 40 XR, Learjet 45 XR and Learjet 60 XR aircraft at the upcoming Wichita Festival of Flight at the McConnell Air Force Base on September 25 and 26, in Wichita. Marking the occasion will be a Learjet flyby.

The Open House begins at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 25, and admission is free. The Learjet aircraft flyby is scheduled for early afternoon.

Learjet 45 XR aircraft. When compared to its closest competitor, the eight-to-nine passenger Learjet 45 XR aircraft flies faster and farther, with more passengers*. A model of efficiency, the Learjet 45 XR aircraft burns 11 per cent less fuel when flying from Reno to Chicago with a full passenger load** and its superior fuel-saving capabilities mean the aircraft can fly non-stop from Reno to Atlanta with eight passengers, a mission that its nearest competitor is not able to achieve**. The Learjet 45 XR aircraft passenger cabin area is approximately 15 inches (38 cm) longer and features the only double-club seating configuration in its class, making it the perfect business tool for charter and fractional operators.

Learjet 60 XR aircraft. The Learjet 60 XR aircraft is a proven model of performance, comfort, value and versatility in the midsize jet market segment. It delivers a high cruise speed of Mach 0.81 (861 km/hr), superior climb capabilities, proven fuel efficiency and low direct operating costs per nautical mile*. The jet's higher operating altitudes – certified to 51,000 ft (15,545 m) – translate to time savings due to better winds, less traffic and less turbulence.

Learjet 40 XR aircraft. This six-to-seven passenger jet is designed to meet the most demanding mission requirements in the light business jet segment. The Learjet 40 XR offers multiple improvements to an already impressive performance: faster time-to-climb and cruise speeds under hot and high conditions, and improved payload-range capabilities.

* segment is largely determined by a combination of cabin volume, range and price.
** under certain operating conditions.
